Requirements for a Portuguese Tourist Visa Application

The following nationals must apply in person for their Portugal Visas:Afghanistan, Albania, Algeria, Bahrain, Bangladesh, Belarus, Burundi, China, Colombia, Democratic Republic of Congo, Ecuador, Egypt, Hong Kong CID, Frandesspas Document, Indonesia, Iran , Iraq, Jordan, Kazakstan, Kosovo, Kuwait, Lebanon, Libya, Nigeria, N. Korea, Oman, Pakistan, Palestine, Philippines, Qatar, Travel Document holders, Tunisia, Rwanda, Saudi Arabia, Siera Leone, Somalia, Sri Lanka, Sudan, Surinam, Syria, United Arab Emirates, Vietnam, Yemen, Zambia, Zimbabwe

  • Passport and UK visa that meets requirements set by the Embassy of Portugal in London [Explained]
  • ONE FULL BLANK visa page to affix the Portugal visa.
  • UK Visas must be stamped inside your current passport.
  • Copy and Original Proof of Fully Paid Travel. [Explained]
  • Copy and Original Proof of Accommodation in Portugal [Explained]
  • Copy and Original Bank Statement - minimun positive balance of £50 for each day you are travelling[Explained]
  • Copy and Original Employment or College Letter [Explained]
  • Copy and Original Last Three Payslips
  • Travel Insurance (valid in Portugal)
  • 3 Colour Passport Photographs**
  • Complete and sign the Portuguese Visa application form [Download]
  • Complete and sign the "The Schengen Office Case Sheet" and "The Schengen Office Terms and Conditions" [Download]
  • The Schengen Office Handling Fee

**Note: White background only (cream and light blue backgrounds are not accepted by the Embassy), shoulders must be in the photograph.

Spouse/Family member of EU National

Spouse/Family member of EU National - If you are married to/dependant on British/Irish national please contact The Schengen Office to discuss your requirements.

Marriage Certificates/Birth Certificates that require translations HAVE TO BE notarised by the Embassy of the person’s nationality.

Portuguese Visa Fees:

Official Schengen visa fee is: €60 (approx. £58)
Schengen Office Service Fee £65
Total Cost through The Schengen Office is currently: £123.00*

*Note: Includes €60 Embassy fee

If you require passport to be posted to you additional £6.00 will be charged.
